Yasmin Arkinstall is a classically trained vocalist, having graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (University of Sydney) in 2018 as a Vocal Performance major with a Bachelor of Music. She is a diverse mezzo soprano with a love for singing classical music, opera, musical theatre, popera, light jazz and easy-listening contemporary covers. She has sung for numerous corporate functions, gala dinners, parties, weddings, aged care recitals, funerals, and council events. She has also lent her voice to proposals, surprise birthdays, and soirées.

In 2022 she sang with English comedian Bill Bailey as the support act for his En Route to Normal tour at Sydney’s historic State Theatre. Following this she was asked by ImpactInstitute to be their ambassador for the 2023 Nepean Disability Expo. In promoting this event she appeared on Studio 10 as a guest interviewee and performer, as well as being interviewed by 7News for the “My Big Story” YouTube series. She also came top 10 in NSW for the 2021 7News Young Achiever Awards in the community services category for her mental health advocacy work.

In 2020, Yasmin and acclaimed composer Dr Eve Klein were awarded an Arts Projects For Individuals and Groups grant by the Australia Council For the Arts to create a new operatic, autobiographical work about Yasmin’s life. This work now titled “OCDiva” was also offered a grant in 2021 by Blacktown Arts, the Blacktown Council’s contemporary arts organisation. In 2022 and 2023, Yasmin, Dr Klein and Sarah Penicka-Smith (musical director) recorded the music at the University of Queensland.

Yasmin has also been a guest interviewee and performer on Studio 10 in 2018 and 2019 as an ambassador for The Smith Family charity organisation. She has been featured in the Australian Women's Weekly (April 2021 edition), Penrith Press (Daily Telegraph) and CutCommon magazine as a musical artist, teacher and mental health advocate. Notable solo performances as a young performer took place at the 2003 Schools Spectacular when she was 8 years old, City Recital Hall for 500 of Deutche Bank's leading business women, the 2013 Smith Family annual ceremony at The Opera House, and the 2013 UWS campaign launch for Julia Gillard when she was Prime Minister. In more recent years she sang as a soloist for Stepping Stone House's 2019 Sleep Under the Stars event MC'd by Kyle Sandilands, the 2019 David Jones (Elizabeth Street) shoe floor launch with Studio 10's Sarah Harris present, and the 2022 product launch for a2 Milk at Luna Park's Big Top. Yasmin has sung as soprano soloist in 2019 for Vivaldi's Gloria in D major and Handel's Messiah at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. In 2020 Yasmin was also selected as a soloist in Penrith Conservatorium’s 2020 Young Artist Program “Street Notes” where she performed new and old classical compositions. Her most recent theatre experience was playing Polly Peachum in the Beggars Opera and Susanna in Figaro.
